Karttakortti - Map card

 

Tässä esittelen pari päivää sitten saamani kortin, joka tuli Julialta. Tämä oli kolmas kortti jonka Iso-Britanniasta sain ja ihan ensimmäinen karttakortti. Tykkään kun siinä on merkattuna vain tärkeimpiä ja kuuluisimpia paikkoja, ja kivat piirrokset koristavat kuvaa. 

Julia kirjoitti korttiin että hän oli juuri palaamassa viikon matkalta Isle of Wightiltä (näkyy kartassakin ihan eteläosassa), jossa hän oli käynyt patikoimassa.

Kortin hän oli postittanut Lontoosta kotimatkaltaan.

Here I present a card I received a couple of days ago, which came from Julia. This was the third card I received from Great Britain and the very first map card. I like it when only the most important and famous places are marked, and nice drawings decorate the picture. Julia wrote on the card that she had just returned from a week's trip to the Isle of Wight (shown in the very southern part of the map), where she had gone hiking. She had mailed the card from London on her way home.

Joskus on kiva lähettää muitakin kortteja kuin kaupasta valmiina ostettuja. Omista valokuvista on kiva teettää persoonallisia kortteja. Minä päätin kokeilla ja tilasin parista ottamastani kuvasta postikortit.

Sometimes it's nice to send cards other than the ones you buy from the store. It's nice to have personalized cards made from your own photos. I decided to try it and ordered postcards from a couple of photos I took.

 Se oli mielestäni edullista, sillä sain yhteensä 20 kpl kortteja, jotka saamallani etukoodilla maksoivat yhteensä lähetyskuluineen 16,33 eli yhden kortin hinnaksi tuli 0,82€.

Näitä Merikorttelikortteja tilasin yhden sarjan, eli 10 kpl.

I thought it was a good deal, as I got a total of 20 cards, which with the promo code I received cost a total of 16.33 including shipping costs, or 0.82€ per card. I ordered one set of these Merikortteli cards, or 10 cards.

Toinen kymmenen kortin sarja oli kuvani mökkirannastamme.

The second set of ten cards was my picture of our cottage beach.

Kortin osoitepuoli näyttää tältä. Korttiin oli mahdollista tilata tekstiäkin, mutta minä halusin vain nuo viivat osoiteriveiksi.

Jälkeenpäin tuli mieleen että olisin voinut lisätä tämän osoitepuolen johonkin reunaan maininnan kuvaajasta eli minusta, mutta se oli sitten jo myöhäistä kun tilaus oli jo lähtenyt. No, kirjoitin sitten itse nimeni korttiin.

Uskon ettei omista kuvista korttien teettäminen jää minulle ainoaksi kerraksi, sillä kortit ovat mielestäni tosi korkealaatuisia ja tukevaa pahvia, joten kestävät varmaan hiukan rajummatkin kuljetusolosuhteet.

The address side of the card looks like this. It was possible to order text on the card, but I only wanted those lines as address lines. Afterwards, it occurred to me that I could have added a mention of the photographer, i.e. me, to one of the edges of this address side, but it was too late when the order had already been sent. Well, I wrote my name on the card myself. I believe that ordering cards from my own photos will not be the only time for me, because I think the cards are really high quality and made of sturdy cardboard, so they will probably withstand even slightly harsher transport conditions.
