Peräkkäiset ID-numerot - Consecutive ID-numbers

 

No vihdoin kolahti postilaatikko! Yli neljään viikkoon ei tullut yhtään korttia, mutta nyt tuli peräti seitsemän.

Ensimmäinen kortti tuli USA:sta Arizonasta. Rahul, joka asuu Tucsonissa, oli käynyt Saguaron Kansallispuistossa ja lähetti sieltä tämän kortin.

Well, the mailbox finally crashed! No cards arrived for over four weeks, but now there are seven. The first card came from Arizona, USA. Rahul, who lives in Tucson, had visited Saguaro National Park and sent this card from there.

Kaikkein uskomattominta tämän päivän korteissa oli se, että nämä kolme korttia jotka tulivat USA:sta oli lähetetty samana päivänä ja niissä oli PERÄKKÄISET ID-numerot, kuten allaolevasta kuvasta näkyy. Mikä sattuma!

The most incredible thing about today's cards was that these three cards that came from the USA were sent on the same day and had CONSECUTIVE ID numbers, as you can see in the picture below. What a coincidence!

Carmen Sveitsistä lähetti kuvan koristeellisesta rakennuksesta. Kuva on Stein-nimisestä kaupungista joka sijaitsee Reinin varrella. Pääsisipä tuonne ihastelemaan näitä upeita taloja ja maisemia!

Carmen from Switzerland sent a picture of a decorative building. The picture is from a town called Stein, located along the Rhine. I wish I could go there to admire these wonderful houses and landscapes!

Majakkakortti tulee Saksasta Petralta. Hän asuu Hannoverissa. Petra vihjasi myös upeasta Herrenhäuser Gärten-puutarhasta ja googlettamalla näin tosi upeita kuvia sieltä, ja ajo-ohjeetkin google antoi, mutta nyt ei taida ehtiä ajella sinne, toisen kerran sitten.

The lighthouse card comes from Petra in Germany. She lives in Hannover. Petra also suggested the magnificent Herrenhäuser Gärten gardens and by googling I found some really great pictures from there, and Google also gave me driving directions, but I don't think I'll have time to drive there now :)

Englannista tulee tämä Carolin lähettämä kortti ja mielestäni kuva voisi olla vaikka Ahvenanmaalta kuvattu.

Ihan uskomatonta on, että Carol kertoo että hän ja hänen miehensä ovat eläkeläisiä ja viimeiset kaksitoista vuotta he ovat koko ajan olleet matkalla paikasta toiseen. Heidän matkatavaransa mahtuvat kahteen matkalaukkuun, eikä heillä ole kiinteää kotia vaan kaikki omaisuus mahtuu noihin kahteen laukkuun. Aika hurjaa uskaltamista!

This card from Carol comes from England and I think the picture could have been taken in Åland. It is quite unbelievable that Carol says that she and her husband are pensioners and for the last twelve years they have been constantly travelling from place to place. Their luggage fits into two suitcases, and they do not have a permanent home, but all their belongings fit into those two suitcases. Quite a daring move!

Jill joka myös asuu USA:ssa kertoo että hän kävi tutustumassa National Postal Museumiin Washingtonissa. Googlasin tämänkin kohteen ja voisin käydä tuolla itsekin, niin mielenkiintoiselta se näytti.

Jill, who also lives in the USA, says that he visited the National Postal Museum in Washington. I Googled this place and thought I might visit it myself, it looked so interesting.

Mustavalkokortin lähetti Donna Ottawasta.  Donna asuu pikkukaupungissa lähellä Ottawaa. Kortissa on kuvattuna Rideau Canal, jossa Donna on usein veneillyt kesäisin ja talvella joella voi vaikka luistella.

The black and white card was sent by Donna from Ottawa. Donna lives in a small town near Ottawa. The card shows the Rideau Canal, where Donna often goes boating in the summer and where you can even skate on the river in the winter.

Tämän upean kortin höyryveturista lähetti Ksenia Philadelpiasta. Kuvan mukana tuli parisivuinen kirje jossa hän kirjoitti omasta arkipäivästään. Hienoa vaivannäköä, kiitos Ksenia!

Tänään oli tosi hyvä postipäivä.

This wonderful card of a steam locomotive was sent by Ksenia from Philadelphia. The picture was accompanied by a two-page letter in which she wrote about her own everyday life. Great effort, thank you Ksenia! Today was a really good mail day.
