Taas on tullut kortteja. Tämän ensimmäisen lähetti

Jennifer Texasista. Jennifer kirjoitti kortin kuunnellen

samalla koiransa kuorsausta :)

    Cards have arrived again. This first one was sent by Jennifer from Texas. Jennifer wrote the card while listening to her dog snoring :)

Hannelelta tuli tämä upea Halloween-kortti. Halloween-miitti oli pidetty, ei enempää eikä vähempää kuin Turun Linnassa. Linnassa näyttää olleen tosi aavemainen tunnelma.

Hannele sent me this wonderful Halloween card. The Halloween rally was held, no more and no less than at Turku Castle. It seems that there was a really spooky atmosphere in the castle.

Tanja lähetti tämän kesäistä tunnelmaa hohkaavan viiliaiheisen kortin. Tanja kertoo miten hänen lapsuudessaan kotona tehtiin itse viiliä ja päälle siroteltiin sokeria ja talkkunajauhoja ja hyvää oli. Tänä päivänä hän ei tykkää viilistä ollenkaan. Minä taas muistan nuo ruskeat kerma/maitopullot!

Tanja sent this summery card. Tanja tells how in her childhood she used to make "viili" at home and sprinkle sugar and talcum powder on top and it was delicious. Today she doesn't like "viili" at all. I remember those brown cream/milk bottles!

Tämä ihana kaunis kortti tuli Minnalta. Kortissa lukee että se on näköispainos viime vuosisadan alun postikortista. Tämä kortti ei tullut postcrossingin kautta, vaan facebookin postikorttiringin kautta.

This lovely beautiful card came from Minna. The card says that it is a photocopy of a postcard from the beginning of the last century. This card did not come through Postcrossing, but through the Facebook postcard ring.

Toinenkin Halloween-aiheinen kortti tuli. Nimittäin Liisa lähetti Seinäjoen miitistä tämän kissakortin. Aika upea tunnelma kortissa. Miitti oli torikeskuksessa joka on kuulemma aika rauhallinen paikka, mutta hampurilaisravintola siellä sentään on joten miittailijat saivat syödäkseen jotta jaksoivat sitten taas näitä kortteja kirjoitella.

Another Halloween-themed card arrived. Namely, Liisa sent this cat card from the Seinäjoki meeting. The card has a pretty wonderful atmosphere. The meeting was in the market center, which is said to be a pretty quiet place, but there is a hamburger restaurant there, so the meeting participants got to eat so they could write these cards again.

Angela Hollannista lähetti majakkakortin. Majakan lisäksi kortissa on Hollannille niin tunnusomaiset kukat, tulppaanit. Kortin kääntöpuolella on kaksi majakka-aiheista postimerkkiä sekä kaksi postilaatikon kuvaa (majakan lisäksi ovat myös postilaatikot toiveaiheitani). Hienoa kun lähettäjät lukevat saajan toiveita korttien suhteen ja laittavat vielä jotain ekstraakin mukaan.

Angela from Holland sent a lighthouse card. In addition to the lighthouse, the card features the flowers that are so characteristic of Holland, tulips. On the back of the card are two lighthouse-themed stamps and two pictures of mailboxes (in addition to lighthouses, mailboxes are also one of my favorite subjects). It's great when senders read the recipient's wishes for the cards and add something extra.

Page, Seattlesta lähetti tämän tosi kivan kortin. Siinä on oikeastaan kuvattu koko postcrossingin idea ja toiminta. Page kuuluu kirjoittajaryhmään, hän on eläkkeellä ja kahden aikuisen pojan äiti.

Page, from Seattle, sent this really nice card. It actually describes the whole idea and operation of Postcrossing. Page is part of the writers' group, she is retired and the mother of two grown sons.

Marimekko-kortti tuli Saksasta Heikeltä. Heike kirjoittaa että viime päivinä heillä on ollut oikea intiaanikesä, mutta nyt sää on muuttunut sumuiseksi.

The Marimekko card came from Heike in Germany. Heike writes that they have had a real Indian summer the last few days, but now the weather has turned foggy.

Toinenkin Marimekko-kortti tuli tänään, nimittäin USA:sta. Lähettäjä on Mike, joka kirjoittaa olevansa 70-vuotias, mutta mieleltään paljon nuorempi. 

Another Marimekko card arrived today, from the USA. The sender is Mike, who writes that he is 70 years old, but feels much younger.

Keep Calm-kortti on Sandran lähettämä. Sandra asuu Saksassa pikkukaupungissa Itämeren rannalla. Sandra kertoo että täydellisen päivän hän aloittaa kahvimukin kera auringonnousua ihaillen.

The Keep Calm card was sent by Sandra. Sandra lives in a small town in Germany on the Baltic Sea. Sandra says that a perfect day starts with a cup of coffee and admiring the sunrise.

Eric, joka asuu Freibergissä, Saksassa, lähetti tämän kortin.

Eric, who lives in Freiberg, Germany, sent this card.

Tämä mustavalkokortti tuli aina Hong Kongista saakka. Kuvassa on Astor Hotellin ruokasali. Valitettavasti lähettäjä on kirjoittanut tekstin niin epäselvästi että sain ainoastaan selville että kyseessä on viiden tähden hotelli. Ja senkin ymmärsin vasta viidestä tähdestä jotka hän oli piirtänyt.

This black and white card came all the way from Hong Kong. The picture shows the dining room of the Astor Hotel. Unfortunately, the sender wrote the text so unclearly that I only understood that it was a five-star hotel. And even that I only understood from the five stars he had drawn.

Junakortti tuli USA:sta ja lähettäjä on Dave. Dave kertoo että heillä on tosi lämmintä, melkein sietämättömän kuumaa.

The train card came from the USA and the sender is Dave. Dave says that they have really warm, almost unbearably hot.

Päivi Lahdesta lähetti tämän kortin. Kuvassa on Lahdessa oleva Veljeskoti. Päivin kortissa oli hieno jäänmurtaja-postimerkki.

Päivi from Lahti sent this card. The picture shows the Brotherhood Home in Lahti. Päivi's card had a nice icebreaker stamp on it.

Viimeinen postauksen kortti tulee Saksasta Monikalta.  Monika on juuri valmistelemassa opetustuntia. Kuvassa on kaunis Bavarianjärvi. Kuvassa on vielä kesä, mutta Monika kertoo että heilläkin on nyt syksy.

Tänään tuli ennätysmäärä kortteja, nimittäin yhdeksän kappaletta.

The last card in the post comes from Monika from Germany. Monika is currently preparing a lesson. The picture shows a beautiful Bavarian lake. It is still summer in the picture, but Monika says that they also have autumn now. A record number of cards arrived today, namely nine.
