NYT ON HIENOJA KORTTEJA - FINE CARDS

 

Nyt on kerääntynyt sellainen määrä kortteja, että päätin jättää postimerkit pois ettei postauksesta tulisi liian pitkää. 

Ensimmäinen tuli Puolasta ja sen on lähettänyt yhdeksänvuotias Pavel. Hän ei ollut kirjoittanut paljoa ja oma nimikin oli jäänyt pois, mutta hän oli piirtänyt kivan tikku-ukon, vai olikohan se robotti, ja Ahvenanmaan lipun kortin kääntöpuolelle. Kiitos oikein paljon kortista Pavel!

Now I have collected so many cards that I decided to leave out the stamps so that the post wouldn't be too long. The first one came from Poland and was sent by nine-year-old Pavel. He hadn't written much and even left out his own name, but he had drawn a nice stick figure, or maybe it was a robot, and the Åland flag on the back of the card. Thank you very much for the card, Pavel!

Ihana kuumailmapallokortti on Birgitiltä Saksasta. Birgit on ammatiltaan opettaja ja hän opettaa taideaineita ja englantia. Birgit oli koristellut kortin tekstipuolen kauniisti ja hänen käsialansa oli hieno.

This lovely hot air balloon card is from Birgit from Germany. Birgit is a teacher by profession and teaches art and English. Birgit had decorated the text side of the card beautifully and her handwriting was exquisite.

No, entä tämä kortti sitten! Onko vähän hieno?!! Kertakaikkisen ihana vintage-kortti jonka lähetti Norbert Hampurista. Voi että tykkään tästä!

Well, how about this card then! Isn't it a bit cool?!! A really lovely vintage card sent by Norbert from Hamburg. Oh, I love this!

Tämä kortti tuli Michelleltä New Mexicosta USA:sta. Minulla on kyllä niin vajavaiset tiedot maantiedosta, että en tiennyt että New Mexico on yksi USA:n osavaltioista.  Taas opin hiukan uutta. 

This card came from Michelle from New Mexico, USA. I have such a poor knowledge of geography that I didn't know that New Mexico was a state in the USA. Again, I learned something new.

Ikkunakortti on Christinalta Berliinistä. Hän kertoo että Berliinissä on saatu nauttia aurinkoisista syyspäivistä.  Christina on juuri lähdössä syömään kreikkalaiseen ravintolaan.

The window card is from Christina from Berlin. She says that she has been enjoying the sunny autumn days in Berlin. Christina is just about to go to a Greek restaurant to eat.

Yarelis, joka on syntyisin Puerto Ricosta, lähetti tämän kortin Minnesotasta jossa hän nykyään asuu. Kortissa on kuva Split Rock majakasta joka on yksi kuvatuimpia ja eniten vierailtuja majakoita täällä.

Yarelis, who was born in Puerto Rico, sent this card from Minnesota, where he now lives. The card features a picture of Split Rock Lighthouse, one of the most photographed and visited lighthouses here.

Hieno mustavalkokortti tulee Saksasta Lydialta. Lydia harrastaa joogaa, meditoimista taidetta ja kirjoja. Hän nautiskelee teetä ja keksejä.

Kortti on tosi hieno ja olispa kiva päästä tuonne noita autoja katsomaan. Kortista ei selvinnyt onko kuva otettu lähiaikoina ja ajajat vain ovat pukeutuneet vanhaan tyyliin, vai onko kortti vanha valokuva. Luulisin että on vanha kuva.

A nice black and white card comes from Lydia from Germany. Lydia practices yoga, meditative art and books. She enjoys tea and cookies. The card is really nice and it would be nice to get there to see those cars. It is not clear from the card whether the photo was taken recently and the drivers are just dressed in the old style, or if the card is an old photo. I would think it is an old photo.

Vielä yksi kortti Saksasta. Sen lähetti Annette Dresdenistä. Hän käy usein kävelemässä Elbe-joen rannoilla ja tykkää myös puutarhan hoidosta. Hän on keräillyt postimerkkejä lapsuudesta asti.

Another card from Germany. It was sent by Annette from Dresden. She often walks along the banks of the Elbe River and also enjoys gardening. She has collected stamps since childhood.

Tämän kortin kuvasta voi päätellä että se on tullut melkein kotinurkilta. Sen lähetti ahvenanmaalainen postcrossaaja Hannele, joka oli ollut tuolla Sadonkorjuujuhlassa myymässä tuotteita. Arvelen että ainakin tuon maton joka näkyy oikealla, hän on itse kutonut. Kiitos Hannele ja kiitos myös kaikesta opastuksesta jota olen sinulta saanut aloittaessani postcrossauksen pitkän tauon jälkeen!

From the picture of this card, you can tell it came almost from home. It was sent by Hannele, a postcrosser from Åland, who had been there at the Harvest Festival selling products. I think that at least that rug that you see on the right was woven by her herself. Thank you Hannele and thank you also for all the guidance I have received from you when I started postcrossing after a long break!

Viimeinen jännän näköinen kortti tulee Hollannista Marinkalta. Pyörittelin muutamankin kerran korttia kädessäni ennen kuin tajusin miten päin sitä pitää katsoa. Rakennus on museo Amsterdamissa.

The last cool looking card comes from Marinka from Holland. I turned the card around in my hand a few times before I realized which way to face it. The building is a museum in Amsterdam.
